              This program focuses on leveraging research and development projects with the potential to have a significant impact on petroleum exploration, development, and operations, in Newfoundland and Labrador.
              Tourism Market Readiness Subsidy Program $2,500
              To assist operators in enhancing the quality and market readiness of their tourism services, businesses, and products.
              Crafts of Character Branding Program Various Amounts
              To support business development in the craft, gift and apparel sector.
              Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Program $15,000
              This program supports Aboriginal projects that involve the safeguarding of traditions and culture, including language; traditional knowledge and skills; storytelling, music, games and other pastimes; knowledge of the landscape; customs, cultural practices and beliefs; food customs; and living off the land.
              Tuition & Subsidy – On Site Courses $1,500
              Bonavist Institute for Cultural Tourism offers workshop fees and subsidies in order to enhance learning experiences in the cultural tourism industry.
              Operational Support for Community and Regional Heritage Organizations Various Amounts
              Operational support is provided to museums, archives, historical societies and historic trusts to assist in the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage.
              Cultural Economic Development Program – Arts Component $2,000
              The Cultural Economic Development Program offers financial support to professional arts organizations for events or projects that will stimulate economic growth for the cultural sector in Newfoundland and Labrador.
              CBDC Social Enterprise Loan $150,000
              CBDC Social Enterprise Loans and financing is available to Social Enterprises such as non-profit organizations, cooperatives or membership organizations in a form of a loan or loan guarantee. The Social Enterprise Loans provides financial support to businesses with revenue generating operations. The loan can be also used to purchase assets, renovate existing ones or to expand a social enterprise.
              Translation Assistance Program $4,000
              The Translation Assistance Program offers financial assistance to small and medium-sized businesses in the Atlantic region who wish to translate their promotional material. You can apply for up to 50% of the costs of eligible translation projects, up to a maximum of $2,000. The minimum allowed size for translation projects is above $1,000 (approximately 4,500 words).
              Small Loan Program for the Cottage Craft Industry $1,000
              Provide loans to aboriginal cottage craft business owners for the purchase of inventory, tools, raw materials, and to cover other eligible expenses.
              Community Partnership Program (Employment) Various Amounts
              Advanced Education and Skills collaborates with community agencies to deliver supports and initiatives to help individuals to prepare for, attain and maintain employment, and make the transition to a new job.
              Regional Development Fund Various Amounts
              Projects submitted for consideration must clearly link non-commercial activities to economic diversification and/or business development. The four key themes of projects intended for funding are: infrastructure; capacity building; marketing; and, research.
              Stingray Stimulus Plan $15,000,000
              Radio advertising grants for local Canadian businesses in Stingray radio markets.
              R&D Proof of Concept $250,000
              This program helps reduce the technical and financial risk of pre-commercial research and development projects for innovative, high growth businesses in Newfoundland and Labrador.
              GST/HST credit Various Amounts
              Taxpayers building or buying a new house or substantially renovated one that will be their primary place of residence can get a housing rebate on the GST or federal part of the HST. The rebate will reduce GST/HST from 5% to approximately 3.5% for homes valued at $350,000 or less.
              Apprenticeship Wage Subsidy Various Amounts
              The initiative assists underemployed and unemployed apprentices in the skilled trades in Newfoundland and Labrador. Funding helps employers offset salary costs, up to $14/hour, and provides apprentices with the opportunity to gain critical work experience, especially in their first and second year.
              GeoEXPLORE $750,000
              GeoEXPLORE is an RDC-directed research program that supports industry-led R&D projects related to mineral and petroleum exploration and development. You can apply for grant funding of up to $750,000 per project over a maximum three-year period to cover up to 50% of total eligible project costs for R&D projects undertaken by larger companies, and up to 75% of total eligible project costs for R&D projects by junior exploration and small mining companies. Up to 50% of total eligible project costs may be provided, regardless of company size, for field trials and/or large-scale demonstration projects where the total eligible project costs exceed $1 million.
              Summerhill Venture Partners $4,000,000
              Summerhill Venture Partners is an early stage venture capital firm that focuses on working with digital media and information technology.
              Investment Attraction Fund Various Amounts
              The Fund consists of an allocation for loans and advances towards strategic investments in infrastructure support costs, human resource costs or other costs, as determined by the Department of Business, Tourism, Culture, and Rural Development.
              Desjardins GoodSpark Grants $20,000
              Grants are available for eligible SMEs across numerous provinces for projects focused on sustainable development, employment and innovation.
              CBDC Business Counselling Various Amounts
              To help entrepreneurs create small businesses and assist in the expansion and modernization of existing businesses by way of offering guidance and counseling.
              NOHC-Investment Grow Stream $1,000,000
              The program provides funding to encourage business productivity as well as expansion in Northern Ontario.
              Job Skills – Essential Workplace Skills Development Program $5,000
              This initiative provides financial assistance to small or medium size employers to develop and deliver recognized on-the-job training for existing and future employees.
              Work Smarts $7,735
              Work Smarts provides a wage subsidy to employers in Atlantic Canada who hire recent graduates.
              Business Development Program Various Amounts

              Self-Employment Assistance Various Amounts
              The Self-Employment Assistance program provides financial and entrepreneurial assistance to eligible (unemployed) individuals to help them create jobs for themselves by starting a business in Newfoundland and Labrador. There are two elements to the program, one for organizations acting as coordinators for the program and one for individuals seeking assistance.
              Ulnooweg Loan $250,000
              To provide financial assistance to aboriginal business owners in Atlantic Canada.
              Small Enterprise Co-Op Placement Assistance Program (SECPAP) $7,000
              To provide small businesses with the opportunity to build their workforce and get exposed to the value of co-operative education.
              Innovation Loan $150,000
              The Innovation Loan encourages business productivity and effectiveness in rural Atlantic Canada by offering finance, up to $150,000, to support the adoption of new technologies and methods for commercial applications, as well as new products or services, training, and counselling.
              Entrepreneurial Leaders Program $10,000
              The Wallace McCain Institute invites a small, exceptional group of high potential entrepreneurs each year for the Entrepreneurial Leaders Program. The class meets once each month for one year. Each session will be two days in length and will be focused on a central topic.
              First Angel Network Various Amounts
              First Angel Network is a network of angel investors. Companies that are deemed investment ready will be provided with the opportunity to present to the full membership of the First Angel Network at quarterly dinner meetings. You get to make a pitch to member investors as a group, instead of having to seek them out one by one.
              Black Business Initiative Financial Assistance $25,000
              A collection of programs and services designed to assist small to medium-sized enterprises, start-up companies and aspiring entrepreneurs in the African Nova Scotian Community.
              CBDC General Business Loan $150,000
              The General Business Loan provides up to $150,000 in funding for an expansion of your existing premises, to purchase an existing business, construct a new building, or buy new equipment and additional materials to meet increased customer demand.
              Innovative Communities Fund (ICF) Various Amounts
              Provides financial assistance to projects that contribute to the economic development of Atlantic Canada’s communities.
              3+ SEED Capital Program $20,000
              Seed Capital Program provides loans towards starting, expanding or improving a small business and acquiring training business skills. ACOA’s Seed Capital Program provides up to $20,000 per applicant in the form of a repayable, unsecured, personal loan with flexible interest and repayment terms, and up to $2,000 is available per applicant for specialized training and business counseling.
              Pitch for the Purse Various Amounts Pitch competition win seed funding for female founders
              Funding For Canadian Small Businesses $300,000
              Funding is available for Canadian SMEs across numerous industries.
              LaunchPad Various Amounts
              This program is for businesses in other jurisdictions that want to set up operations in PEI.
              Business Planning Program Various Amounts
              The Business Planning Program works closely with the aspiring entrepreneurs and examines their business plan in a step by step process, by providing objective and constructive feedback throughout the business planning process
              Launch Program Various Amounts

              To help Atlantic Canadians compete on the international stage through the development of new ideas, products, businesses and markets.
              Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs Various Amounts
              Provides support, consultation, and access to networking events to women in business in Newfoundland and Labrador.
              TakeCHARGE Custom Solutions $50,000
              Provides rebates of up to $50,000 to businesses in Newfoundland and Labrador that undertake energy efficiency upgrades to commercial facilities.
              JobsNL Wage Subsidy $11,760
              The program provides wage subsidies for hiring new employees in Newfoundland and Labrador.
              Indigenous Youth Cultural Resilience Grant $5,000
              To provide business loans to aboriginal Canadians living in Atlantic Canada.
              Build Program $150,000
              The Build Program focuses on later stage startups, and is a 12-week
              training program to develop the entrepreneurial skills required to grow
              the company. There is a strong emphasis on sales and marketing support.&nbsp; The cost of the program is $5,000, payable only if you manage to raise outside funding at the end of the program.<br>
              Business Investment Program $500,000
              To provide complementary funds (term loans and equity investments) to enable value-added manufacturing, information technology, aquaculture, bio-technology, marine services, agrifoods and tourism.

              Direct Equity Tax Credit Various Amounts
              The Newfoundland and Labrador Direct Equity Tax Credit provides investors with a tax credit for their direct investment in eligible local businesses, effective October 30, 2000.
              Propel Accelerator Various Amounts Online accelerator for promising tech start-ups in Atlantic Canada
              Proof of Concept $20,000
              Proof of Concept is one of the four streams of grant programs under Springboard Atlantic’s Innovation Mobilization Program. Proof of Concept grants are meant to be used for accelerating the pre-competitive development of promising technologies. Applicants may seek up to $20,000 per project, including matching funds.
              Marketing Support $25,000
              Marketing Support is one of the four streams of grant programs under Springboard Atlantic’s Innovation Mobilization Program. Marketing Support grants are meant to be used for building and/or developing a prototype of a technology for marketing purposes. Applicants may seek up to $25,000 for market consulting (including matching funds).
              Patent and Legal $15,000
              Patent and Legal is one of the four streams of grant programs under Springboard Atlantic’s Innovation Mobilization Program. Patent and Legal grants, meant to be used for analysis, establishment or strengthening of an early IP or patent position, cover up to $15,000 in project costs, including matching funds.
              R&D Vouchers $15,000
              The R&D Vouchers program supports Newfoundland and Labrador based businesses who wish to access technical expertise and facilities required to support their research and development activities.

              This program supports businesses in Newfoundland and Labrador who wish to hire recent doctoral graduates to support their R&D activities.
              Climate Change Challenge Fund (CCCF) $50,000
              The Climate Change Challenge Fund (CCCF) is a competitive, application-based grant program designed to enable businesses, industry, municipalities, Indigenous organizations and public sector entities to undertake greenhouse gas reduction projects in Newfoundland and Labrador.
              Pelorus Venture Capital Limited $500,000
              Pelorus Venture Capital Limited is a venture capital fund manager focused on seed stage companies in Atlantic Canada. Their Venture Newfoundland and Labrador LP fund focused on NL companies provides initial investments of $150,000 to $250,000, and up to $1.5 million in total over multiple rounds.
              Industry Engagement $15,000
              Industry Engagement is one of the four streams of grant programs under Springboard Atlantic’s Innovation Mobilization Program. The Industry Engagement grants, meant to promote the development of effective regional partnerships with industry, cover up to $15,000 in project costs, including matching funds.
              SensorTech $750,000
              SensorTECH contributes up to $750,000 per project over a maximum three-year period in the area of sensor research, development and demonstration in simulated and real operating environments to enhance remote sensing R&D capacity in Newfoundland and Labrador. Supported activities will focus on business and economic development opportunities, primarily in coastal, northern, and rural areas.
              ArcticTech $250,000
              ArcticTech is an RDC-directed research program in support of Arctic technology development. The program supports two distinct R&D streams: academic-led R&D and business-led R&D. The target leverage ratio for collaborative partner funding is 2:1 (RDC: industry and other sources, including cash and quantifiable in-kind contributions), with the RDC contribution limited to a maximum of $250,000.
              Aquaculture Capital Equity Program $250,000
              The objective of the program is to partner with companies to increase production from both hatcheries and marine sites in Newfoundland and Labrador.
              Aquaculture Working Capital Loan Guarantee Program $50,000
              The Aquaculture Working Capital Loan Guarantee Program provides assistance to organizations with strong business and operational plans.
              Seafood Innovation and Transition Program $100,000
              The purpose of this program is to provide support for innovation and sustainability for harvesting, processing and marketing of the Newfoundland and Labrador seafood industry.
              AgriInvest Various Amounts
              AgriInvest is one of the business risk management programs the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP)
              AgriStability Various Amounts
              Payment support if production margins fall below 70% of the reference margin in a given year.
              Food Security Research Grant $131,000,000
              The Government of Canada’s Food Security Research Grant is funding Indigenous-led projects that focus on food security and food access inequality in isolated northern communities.
              Impact Loan $25,000 Low-interest loans for young entrepreneurs.
              Economic Diversification and Growth Enterprises (EDGE) Various Amounts
              The Economic Diversification and Growth Enterprises (EDGE) Program provides incentives to encourage significant new business investment in the province to help diversify the economy and stimulate new private sector job creation, particularly in rural areas.
              Canada Newfoundland and Labrador Job Grant $15,000
              The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Job Grant (CNLJG) provides funding to eligible businesses and organizations to help offset the cost of training for their existing and future employees.
              CBDC Youth Loan Program $150,000
              Provide loans to help young entrepreneurs develop their business ideas.
              CBDC First-Time Entrepreneur Loan $150,000
              To encourage small business activity in rural Atlantic Canada by offering loans for use as an investment in eligible new businesses.
              Small Business Tax Break Various Amounts
              Reduced tax rate offered to small business owners in Newfoundland and Labrador.
              Linkages $10,226
              Community based agencies interested in helping youth achieve their employment and career goals are able to host a job placement through the Linkages Program
              Metro Business Opportunities Seed Loan Program $20,000
              The Seed Loan Program offers access to financing to business towards establishment, expansion or modernization of a commercial activity. It should be noted that if the principle shareholders is over the age of 35, the Seed Loan Program financing can be used only for start-up businesses.
              Critical Minerals and Emerging Tech Various Amounts
              Grant funding opportunity to support development of next-generation materials, critical minerals, and end products for a more competitive, modern, and sustainable minerals and materials industry.
              Bioenergy and Circular Economy Various Amounts
              Grant funding opportunity to support projects focused on renewable fuels, waste conversion and building a circular economy in plastics
