[Infographic] How To Search For Government Funding
STARTÂ BY BUILDING YOUR BUSINESS PLAN
While it may not seem like it has an impact on your funding search, your business plan is the key. Not only is a business plan A MUST, but it is also the main component in trying to figure out if you need funding, what you need the funds for and how much!
SEARCH FOR FUNDING CLOSE TO HOME
The government of Canada has hundreds of programs available. but is it a good idea to look at all of those programs? Probably not. To ensure you use your time as best as you can, focus on the funding programs that are available for your province, or even your city. Keep all of Canada to the end if you can’t find local help.
FOCUS ON YOUR INDUSTRY
While there are hundred of funding programs offered by the government, your odds of obtaining a grant or a loan increases greatly when you focus and apply only to programs that are specific to your industry. Your small business can fit into multiple industries (keep in mind)
APPLY ONLY FOR WHAT YOU NEED
The idea of getting funded by the government is very appealing. Think about it, somebody is giving you money. However, funding isn’t for everyone. Be sure to figure out what it is that you actually need money for and only apply for funding for those funding needs!
