You have to love what you do

Stress often causes headaches and itโ€™s one of the main reasons why many small business startups give up within the 1st steps of starting up.

By loving what you do (as in itโ€™s considered more of a hobby then โ€œWORKโ€), you are already at an advantage.

You have to have a great business idea

Anyone can start a small business. Simply go to your local government and get a license. Thatโ€™s it! You are technically a business owner.

But, the truth is, in order to  start a small business and actually have it be successful, you have to have a great business idea.

A great business idea can really be anything as long as you are comfortable with it, you have knowledge of it, there is a market demand and you want to push forward to make it work.

You have to be able to accept help when needed

Starting a business takes so much out of a person. Itโ€™s hard to do it all on your own.

For the first time ever you are a employee, a manager, an owner โ€“ which means you are working the lines, you are the marketer, the accountantโ€ฆetc

Help is available in a lot of places. Help doesnโ€™t always mean get somebody to work for you (and to pay them), instead it can be as simple as listening to advice, reading up on how to save time, money, where to get funding..etc

Take the help where you can.

Give and take time to make it work

Becoming a small business owner in Canada takes a lot of time.

Time to make it all happen.

Time to set up, research, prepare and all the good stuff.

If you invest time into the business and you allow time for the business to work โ€“ it will.
