2024 Startup Challenge: 30 Tasks in 30 Days

Challenge yourself to develop your business, create your Business Plan and find the funding your business needs in 2024. We challenge you to complete our 30 in 30 Startup Challenge and complete 30 tasks in 30 days to transform your ‘idea’ into a full-fledged, revenue-generating business.

The challenge involves completing 1 task for your business, every day for 30 days.

Here are the few steps to get your first week going, but be sure to download the 30 in 30 challenge for more details and the full day to day, step by step.

Day 1 – Refine your small business idea” into a Bu$ine$$

While you might have a great idea, its not a business unless it has the potential to make money.

Day 2 – Choose a business structure.

Figure out what form your business will take: do you want to run your business
yourself, or would you prefer to run it with a partner or associate?

Day 3 – Write your business plan

Learn what sections are essential to every business plan and what key points you should include in order to make yours complete.

Day 4 – Figure out your money situation

So you’ve got an idea, and you’re ready to put it into action. But do you have the financial means not only to fund your business but to sustain your lifestyle while you focus on building your business?

Day 5 – Choose a Business Name

The right name can be an effective advertising tool that can help your customers understand what your business does and which market you are targeting. The wrong name can confuse or drive away customers

Day 6 – Register a Domain Name

Get a matching domain to your business name. Have a domain name in mind? Learn more about domain names, check the availability of your chosen domain, and find out how to register it.

Day 7 – Investigate and Apply for  Business License

You may need one, if not several, business licenses for your startup, depending on your industry and where you are located. Most licenses are at the provincial or municipal level.

How it works:

Decide on your starting date.

We suggest starting today while you’re already in the business mindset (read: pumped!). Complete one task everyday for 30 days until you’ve checked off all the tasks.

But here’s the twist: we dare you not to look at the entire list ever, at any point during the 30 days. Simply complete the task for that day and wait until the next day to see what’s next on the list. If you’re like me, you might download the checklist, skim over the tasks and tell yourself that you’ll start it tomorrow…only to forget about it altogether. But if you don’t look at the entire list right of the bat, your curiosity will keep you coming back to the list and completing tasks just to find out what’s next on the schedule.

Regardless of how much or how little work you’ve already put into building your business, there’s always a lot more to do. So we’ve broken it down for you into smaller, more manageable chunks that you can work on, one by one. We’ve prioritized the tasks you need to complete and put them in a downloadable To-Do list that you can keep near you to refer to and check off tasks as you complete them.
